Hats Off To The Danes
My good friend (and occasional riding partner) Carlo sent this video to me, and I just had to share.
It shows police in Denmark stopping cyclists who aren't wearing helmet, hugging them, and then giving them a free helmet.
Amazing stuff.
A good friend of mine -- Brian Bourke, a fantastic music journalist and an avid cyclist -- was killed in the early 1990s after he was struck by a van while riding. He wasn't wearing a helmet, and it's rare that I don't think about him each time I put my own helmet on before a ride.
Hats off to the Danes.

Some background info if you are interested: The video was made as part of a campaign by the police in Aalborg called "Use a helmet, because we love you!".
Cool clip and a good reminder to wear a helmet.
Thanks for the context!
I was just in Chicago, and was shocked at how many commuting cyclists I saw without helmets, riding in the rain Downtown, on the the loop, even on Michigan Avenue. I'd guess something like a third of the cyclists I saw were wearing nothing in the way of protective headgear despite riding some of the scariest streets you can legally ride.
I thought Prague had the scariest streets you can legally ride!!
